lincs makin friends

This is lil ben's mom. he's a teeny guy compared to my chunker. But they have fun all the same. Bens already rolling over and Linc just lays there on his tummy lookin at him like " show off"
They came over for dinner last night and linc wanted to sit up like a big boy on the couch. Dana helped him

You could roast a chicken out there!

it's so hot! my friends dash said 108 in his car. My make up melted. Seriously. linc and Ezra were beat red on our trip to Costco. and when you pull um out of the car seat they are soaked in sweat. So I tried putting linc in the actual front basket. ya no luck, he freaked out so I had to hold him with one arm and push with the other. Spoiled rotten he is.

Teething baby

How long does this last?! Months? I want my happy baby back. Today at work he wanted me to hold his " sing-a-ma-jig " over him and push the button over and over. if I stopped he would literally scream every time, Such an easy fix yet when trying to work, not so easy.
And he just wants to bite. We've bought him everything under the sun, mesh bags to put apple or ice in, Teething fridge rings, teething necklace, gel, sippy cup for a lil cold water, new bibs for all the drool, he just wants something in his mouth to bite. He fell asleep biting a toy and it kept falling out his mouth, so he'd wake up and shove it back in, clench down and fall asleep again. Becca snapped a picture. silly sad guy.

Oh and while I'm here, today we were driving around with Becca and Ezra and we got a flat tire!! luckily I called kalob and said " the steering wheel is crazy shaking and the tire pressure light is on. what do we do?!" and he said DUH!- you have a flat tire. So we got to hang out at target. Not such a bad place to be stranded for a bit eh? so I got linc a sippy cup and a teething toy. oh and for all you mommys, the dressing rooms are a great place to nurse. * oh I was just trying on this single dress for about twenty minutes, don't mind that slurping you heard*

the tire repair man wasn't very nice either. he said its normally just 15 bucks for him to patch and air it back up but he was " really busy, so it's gonna be 55" !!! Ripper offer.

Marathon weekend!

So with Cort visiting, we tried to cram as much in as we could. we took our classic toothless hag picture. Priceless as always.
We visited the Duke Gardens. Amazingly beautiful but there were so many trails we got lost and walked in the heat a lot longer than we planned. I loved the water Lillies and fish part.
We ate at this trendy hipster lunch place called Toast. I ate a grilled cheese with truffle oil. Yummy!
We got pedicures, we shopped, we watched Dawson's creek, we went to an office BBQ, we made dinners, we swam, we played with linc, had friends over.... I really enjoyed having her here, and I'm sad she's gone.
Linc loved her, she got him belly laughing in the car and I couldn't see him so I started crying :) it was the first time they had met since he was in my belly. Cort visited me up in logan when I was 39 weeks pregnant. I'd like to think he remembered her voice and that she and his mommy laugh a lot when they together. maybe that's why he took a liking to her right off the bat.
she got a small taste of what this whole summer sales business is about, and how it's not for everyone. i took advantage of having someone to help me with linc. I showered longer, actually shut the bathroom door, and was able to try several recipes while she was here! I hope she didn't feel used, maybe she will even want a round 2 visit!

Angel

Linc has been such an angel today. I got 3 loads of laundry put away and another load waiting. the last couple days he's been very needy and today he played by himself so I could get things done.

So then we were able to relax in the pool!! doesn't he look like that chub monster from star wars? 3 chins.

Beccas birthday

Today was the office managers birthday. I made her a ridiculous crown out of scrapping materials I had and Dana and I bought lunch. Blt pizza. Very interesting but not bad.

Tuesday's we have girls night every single week to watch the bachelorette together. we take turns -entree, side, dessert. I made green enchiladas.
The babies lay on blankets in front of the tv and we try to get them to play together! look at Lincoln's gut!!!

Oh and I forgot to mention

while in the bath Linc discovered a lil something while pulling his feet up :) boys, boys, boys.

Linc has found his feet!

he woke up one day with enough strength to pull his feet up to his face. Another milestone down! and now he's obsessed with those things. He gets super pissed when his toes are in footie pajamas as well as when he's in his car seat where it is too hard. At diaper changes he grabs those suckers before during and after which makes it somewhat difficult. He usually screams if I pull them down to put his pants back on.

because of this new talent, he usually falls to his side which then makes it almost possible to roll. So hes getting close, and we are much more careful where we leave him. He plants his feet on the ground, lifts up his bum, and pushes off too!

funny story though, the first day he started doing this he was playing on his activity mat in the office. He just had a Onsie on because his dad put him in a ridiculous non matching outfit when he brought him in, and I took it off. Anyways, linc started whining a little bit and grunting so I look over at him and he's moved in a half circle!! And then I noticed the poop trail swipe that was left behind him.

just bought a bag of cruisers diapers cuz we've got a wiggling mover on our hands.

workin it out

The moms decides to strap on our babes and go to the gym together every other day. workin on my fitness. I have been going on nightly stroller walks thru the apartments anyways but this is even better. Linc fell asleep while I was on the treadmill, the movement must have been soothing.

strapping an extra 17 lbs onto my body and treading on an incline was a pretty good workout!

Fathers day!!

We had such a fun day. I want to post more pictures from the computer but I have to wait for kalob to unload the card.
It started last night with kalob getting home after midnight so we gave him his fathers day treat. A big dirt and worms candy apple from the rocky mountain chocolate factory. of course he shared it. YUM.
we woke up this morning around 10 and played with Lincoln in bed because he's super cute when he just wakes up. Then Lincoln gave kalob his gift. a remote control helicopter!


 when we finally got ready for the day, we hopped in the car and went to Carter's to buy Lincoln a sun hat cuz we were going to the beach! I had went the day before but I wanted to buy Everything so my self control(kalob) needed to come back with me with the cash :) I did get away with buying some 6-9 month onsies, a lil striped sweatsuit and some bibs, cuz he is gonna eat food sooner than later!
oh yah and the sun hat too! And we went out to lunch.

then we drove 2h45m to pick up uncle Andy and head to the beach! well on our way we were getting texts from our friends that it was so beautiful and there were even dolphins at our beach, to hurry! didn't happen! these dark clouds came rolling in, so 15 minutes out they call and say everyones leaving the beach! There are crazy dark clouds coming. We pull up, and I say " we are putting our feet in that ocean!" and we did. And it never rained! Later we find out the black clouds were from a fire. :( ruined our beach blue skies!
we then got back in the car and went to dinner at this place on the water( fairly good) but our friends got in a fender bender right outside! the person ahead of them backed up into them in the middle of the street!
then we visited with Andrew for awhile. It's nice for kalob to be with family, to have his brother so close. We always love having him , and hopefully vice versa.
And then we drove back. All tuckered out. The end!

Congrats

We are so happy for our Emilee. It is so neat she is going to new York to Grammy camp. She deserves it.

so kalob pulled up his pants and said he was accepted to grampy camp! you shoulda saw his back side. Hilarious. Lincoln like it.

Fathers day is comin up and I have no idea what to do for my man. We usually don't celebrate stuff, and I don't have a car so I dunno how I'll make/buy anything. usually if I pick something out for him he doesn't like it, and he honestly has everything he wants already. any ideas?

My new cut

I want long hair. Mermaid hair that covers the shells, if you catch my drift, but whenever I get it that long, it's so broken at the ends, I cut it and then it's too short for me. it's by no means short, but to me it is. My ponytail looks foreign to me now with blunt ends.

all jumped out

Linc is a pro at his jumperoo now. Kalob put him in it while he showered while I was at work. kalob came out and he was asleep in it. Jumped til he couldn't any longer. When kalob snapped the photo the little click awoke him and he rolled the rattle like he was never asleep and then conked back out. Hilarious.

Kalob just put the batteries in it today so it's like a whole new toy to him. He is amazed at the lights and sounds that are jump induced

6 year anniversary

We had a super good anniversary. I am really glad that kalob and I are in love, that we are still best friends, and that we have been inseparable for 9 years. I am so happy we waited to have our Lincoln til we did, and our life is pretty dang happy. I can't really believe we've been married for 6, it makes me feel old. kalob works so hard for our family and he is such a good man. an incredible father too.

we worked on our anniversary which was Sunday, our usual only day off of the week. we were working over an hour away, so me and linc hopped in for the commute which was nice. I got my hair cut, which is terrifying. I want to say " I'm a hairstylist" to the stylist so they know not to crap it up, but then it makes them nervous so they crap it up anyways. :) its not bad, just a lil shorter than I intended and she left it damp, which irritates me. just because I would never do that.

Anyways after that we went to dinner with our team. It was nice to visit and interact with people. linc and I dont get out much. Then we got a cheesecake from the actual cheesecake factory( so expensive, but soo yummy) and went grocery shopping for the week. Then we collapsed at home! Linc in his own bed too! Hope next years anniversary is just as good!

Last night I figured it out! The key to unlock his laughter was "BLAH" over and over. I have it on video but I can't put it in here through my phone. So those of you who received the video, consider yourself lucky!

Last night Lincoln talked at me in bed for about 15 minutes and his babbling story got louder and louder til he started crying. poor thing. It must have been quite a story he was trying to tell me. it was soo funny, it was 2:30 am and kalob had just got in bed and linc was chatting away! I kept laughing til he cried and then we rocked. He's the most precious baby.
