vacation!!

We are in Orlando! It was a ten hour drive from Raleigh, kalob worked Thursday morning so we got here pretty late. I'm annoyed with the hotel because they added 111 dollars worth of charges when we checked in, parking, resort fees etc! Couldn't believe it! but it's pretty nice and the elevator is excellently quick. We just got finished riding it lobby to 18th floor a couple times. guarantee it's Lincoln's favorite ride this whole trip :)
We went to cape canaveral but could hardly see the launch pad. I strapped linc on my front and we walked the pier and had lunch. Then we rested and around 9 pm we went to downtown Disney. It's fun to people watch and stroll. then we went to dinner at a tex mex place and Lincoln loved it. He tried lemonaid, beans, and tortilla soup! he was so mad when we wouldn't give him any more " tastes"

We are spending linc's half birthday in disneyworld!!!

We are so excited! leaving Thursday. It's too bad linc wont remember turning six months at the happiest place on earth. But I'll take a bazillion pictures. And prove it to him later. The best vacation of his life at six months :)

Look at this!

Some cool things happened today! I made a super successful dinner. Mongolian beef with stir fry! With the egg even. I'm so proud of myself. it wasn't done til 12:15 in the morning but hey, I do what I can do when I can do it.
Also, Lincoln ate 2 bowls of sweet potatoes and rice. morning and night and I'm so proud of him! he unfortunately has not slept in his bed the last 4 nights. We save him after an hour of crying :( oh and sidebar- when we say sweet potatoes, it can only be said the way Oprah says it.
Other cool thing, I bought a subscription to us weekly on groupon for only 34 dollars for a full year. I'm so stoked. My celebrity gossip at such a minimal price.
Other thing. Lincoln has joined a gym. For babies. I'm hoping it will help out his torticollis as well be fun. It's hard to keep him entertained All the time.
Tomorrow. Farmers market. And planning a family vacation to Florida. kalob deserves it. whatever he wants to do, I'm willing. (crossing my fingers for disneyworld) we are coming to the home stretch of our original span of work, and then we start the bonus leg til mid October. So kalobs taking a couple days off in between so he can start fresh.

Children's museum photo bomb!

Ezra and Lincoln had a grand hoorah at the children's museum! I wish they were a tad bit older, they could have played with a lot more stuff but they had a forest room all for rugrats/toddlers and we found some other spots for them to play. great idea Becca! Then we went to lunch at olive garden and then went home for a nap! Fabulous day

Hats

so linc has a super big head. and all the hats I or anyone else has gotten him for fall/winter. Are probably not going to fit on his huge noggin! The football beanie makes him look African American when it blurred haha. and the snow hat is So tight. And the dragon tail is hilarious but since he can reach the tail end, he grabs it off. oh boy

doin stuff

We are going to the children's museum tomorrow! We had dinner tonight with Becca and Ezra( Dana and Ben went home, home to Michigan ) and we are going to a farmers market on Saturday I think. its nice to get out of the house.
Tonight is the night I'm putting Lincoln in bed and letting him cry it out. we got him a lovey Eeyore to stroke instead of my face, and that's how it's gonna be. we will see if I can stand it.

Funny

Kalob is my best friend. These stories will let you know why.

a couple weeks ago I got a milk blister, I won't go into detail, you can guess what that is like. anyways, it hurt soo much so I had to pop it. Well it bled a tiny bit, and it was so sore, but I had to keep feeding linc despite.
awhile later linc spit up bright red! And I was freaking out " oh my gosh , I didn't realize he'd be sucking blood, it's going to hurt his tummy!!" so I call kalob in a panic, and he says
" oh,,,no, I gave him Gatorade "

story number 2.(kalob tells me afterwork)
he has some downtime between jobs and he pulls up to taco bell. he goes to the drive thru and there is a bum, who of course says he starving, can he have some money for lunch. Kalob says " no money, but I'll buy you some tacos" then the bum starts arguing that he has no teeth, can't he just have the money, he wants to go to Bo Jangles for chicken! (oh North Carolina) kalob responds "no, well since you have no teeth, I'll get you soft tacos" then the bum says" okay, get me like five or eight" :) kalob bought him two. he must have never heard the saying beggars can't be choosers.

story 3
this crazy lady is moving into our apt complex, on the third floor. it's almost midnight and kalob goes outside to take out the trash. he never comes back so I text him what's going on?!? The crazy lady has driven her car, through our courtyard ( missing the hedges and fountain somehow) and is stuck on the putting green. she was yelling at him to come help her. she thought her actions were completely reasonable. driving through the grass as well as expecting him to help her even after her coping an attitud. (kalobs so level headed) then her battery died and she expected him to drive his car through the lawn to jump her! where she was STUCK. ridiculous. then the tow company refused to help her since they would damage property getting in there. Kalob told her he and the guys could help push it out if she could get it running( he's a sweetheart) and as long as the sprinklers didn't come on. He gathers the tech team and they wait patiently. close to 1:30 am the sprinklers come on, 2 of which she broke, and then we all go inside. But not without taking pictures.

I haven't been busy

I just don't have a lot to say. Here are pictures of linc and Lily and of our visit with Molly too! I am counting down the days still this never ending summer is done. I'm trying to get linc on a better schedule, letting him cry it out is hard. Ever since being back from our trip, he's having attachment issues, well being unattached from my hip, is his issue. or anytime I or kalob leave a room. being independent is hard on the lil man

Torticollis

So I haven't mentioned what all has been going on with Lincoln. he was diagnosed with Torticollis. All that means is he has tightness in his neck muscle. it was caused during delivery when they broke his collar bone, and then he favored that side. since we didn't find out it was broken til he was 2 months, and we were here in nc, he hasn't seen his regular pediatrician who would have started him in physical therapy. Linc was able to see his dr in Logan and he went to 2 physical therapy appointments during our visit. His case is slight, barely noticeable, but we don't want him tilting his head to one side for the rest of his life. I have some stretching to do with him everyday. So that's that.
Linc is 5 months. 18.09 lbs and 26.25 inches long. and his head was 17 inches. he is in the 90th percentile for head, 80s for weight, and 70s for length. he still can't roll from his belly to back - he chose the hard way first. he can sit up. he is developmentally a 7.5 month old. he doesn't like food very much though. Peaches are his favorite so far and he tried frozen yogurt, who wouldn't like that. he just got a new friend in the mail from his grandma brownfield, octopus. Pictures to come of that.

We missed kalob!

It feel so nice to be our whole family again. I'm exhausted on the verge of tears and kalob suggested we get all the grocery shopping done tonight. I've been up since 4 am Utah time! I'm sitting in the car and our banshee child is in the store with his dad. I don't know why he started this high pitched screaming, but I hope it phases out quick. He's so sweet most of the time, but he has his moments

hair bow

This has nothing to do with Lincoln. I just liked this hair idea and did it. being a new mom I always have a ponytail now, but this is a cuter option. it was sloppy cuz it was the first try. but I dig it. excuse the rubbed out eye make up. I got finished driving to Utah at 5 this morning.
