I feel like I haven't blogged in so long!

I have been doing laundry! 5 loads! Dirty laundry since before vacation, then the vacation clothes, plus our recent! it was too much, but now it's all neatly folded and sitting in baskets to be put where they belong in the morning.
I have no idea when it happened but Lincoln has so many clothes out right now ! he still fits in a lot of his 9 month clothes ontop of his 12 month stuff, plus it's cold here still(it snowed today even!) so I'm wanting to get the most use of them before I pack it all away to make way for summer! I can't believe it's almost April! we have one more month left til New Jersey! ahh next adventure is looming. I wonder if the day will ever come when we settle in somewhere ,and if I'll miss traveling so much? probably!
The rest if our trip went amazing. thanks kellen, Magen, raine, and lime for showing us what Eugene has to offer! plus all the tasty foods I now need recipes for!
Portland was very neat, though we stuck to one city block. Kalob yelled " get your beard out of the street!" at hipsters while driving. They seemed a different type of people there. a lot of unbrushed hair, a lot of mismatched clothes. but on purpose. We didn't feel we fit in there very well. We ate at little big burger which was so delicious! there is a giant, gargantuan, the biggest I've ever seen - book store called powell's books. It was so amazing! Floors of books. Old and new, you could seriously get lost in there! kalob and I split up and just ended up picking books for Lincoln! Spoiled lil guy! but he sure does love the new pop ups. he got some super cute sunglasses on the trip too, since he's a determined big boy! And wants anything and everything we have and will throw a fit if he can't. he will actually wear the glasses and he looks so friggin cute, I can't take it.
Seattle was sooo much fun, just like you've all heard. we visited our friends and had pizza! the boys hopefully didn't mind Lincoln drooling all over their toys!
we staid in a skyscraper hotel in the middle of the city, where you have to valet your car, and get fancy robes! Hehe
In the morning, we went straight to the space needle. We walked so we could see the city. It was so windy up there you can hardly breath. linc had snot running down his face, it was so cold! the view was spectacular, and it was so clear, you could see everything! After that, we took the monorail across town and then walked to the famous pike place! I was in heaven, I love people watching! And that place was alive! a whole street packed with people and vendors. we shared a gyro and a plum. Lincoln ate pretty much a whole banana! we saw all the flowers for sale, we saw them throwing fish, we ooohed and Aahhhed over the lil trinkets. It's just a super fun place to go, everyone should! Then we hiked it back to our hotel. Lincoln just passed out on Kalob's shoulder, which rarely happens.
Then we drove home! we stopped by my cousins home near Boise for some dessert, to stretch our legs, and enjoy their company and then... The vacation ended!
It was seriously one of my favorite vacations ever.
I wish I was better at uploading real photos instead of just the few iPhone ones I took. I promise, one day, there will be a picture explosion.

Oregon spring break!

we have been a traveling circus again! right now, we are in Eugene, Oregon visiting family! kalob is on spring break so what better thing to do than travel. maybe one day, we will get out of the USA, see what the world has to offer. But for this week, we saw Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. On Friday we will be driving to Portland and up to Seattle to visit some dear friends we haven't seen in years. they have twin 2 year old boys so I bet linc has a great time.
it's not too surprising, but Lincoln loves his cousins! he's got a couple bruises on his legs from being drug around and carried by other small people that weigh in around the same. (It's weird that's what kids do, they like to pick eachother up, have you ever noticed that?) but he is truly having a blast. he has grown a lil more confident in walking, and the girls love to hold his hand. We are starting to realize the importance of siblings close in age.
we have been packing in fun stuff around Eugene because unfortunately their car broke down and only goes 35 miles an hour or less! that meant our trip to the coast got exed. so far we have been to their natural history museum, picked out treats at a local bakery, went to a university of Oregon baseball game, watched lime at her gymnastics class and Raine at her ballet, played soccer, went on walks, ate sushi, slid and swung at the park, fed the ducks at the river...lots of simple relaxing things for young kids to do and still have time for naps! linc is actually passed out in his car seat right now- so I'm blogging in the car and kalob is shopping in the mall. so one more day here! we plan to go to a masonic transcendental cemetery and the new OZ movie tomorrow! More pictures to come!

zoo train party!

Lincoln had a most fun birthday party at his Grammies up in logan! we ate dinner made just for him-Mac and cheese, chicken tenders, steamed carrots (and salad for the adults) . I made everyone wear animal face masks, and I think we freaked the birthday boy out. He had a zoo cake that I slapped together, it turned out alright. Everyone's favorite part was a wafer stick fencing around it. my mom threw together his gem of a smash cake. (I was doing hair that day ,as well, so we got rushed towards the end of the day. ) Lincoln doesn't prefer to use his hands to eat, so his smashing, was more like spoon destroying. he's a determined lil guy, wants to eat like the big people. After cake he opened his presents from my family. he got some cute summer outfits and a ball, a block snake, and some nesting cups.
side note- I never really thought about how many clothes you potentially have to buy for your first kid. every season and every size! what a blessing clothes are. he received some clothes, puzzle, and eating supplies, by mail, from his grandpa. when we went to linc's gg's funeral recently, he opened his present from his grandma early, cuz he's spoiled- a cute baseball outfit and socks, along with a steering wheel for great pretend driving. We received some monetary presents for him too, which is always so helpful. Diapers are pricey!
We ended his party by having a zoo train. Lincoln LOVED pushing Abby and fender in the boxes. They are good pet cousins for letting him. He also took some rides himself! I'm already thinking about what to do next year.

Lincoln's number one birthday!

today was such a great day!
we started the day with a present in our bed. he got a set of " Melissa & Doug" wooden cars on a semi truck. He wakes at 7 so we let him open it in our bed so he would play quietly while we got a couple more zzzzs, and he did! he was rolling those cars all over his sleeping father's face :) Then we skyped with his Grammie.
We ate some yummy waffles, opened a cute gift from his best friend Ezra, and by 9:30, he was ready for his morning nap.
after his second sleep... we went to the zoo!
I personally love the zoo, kalob even said I liked it more than Lincoln, but a good time was had by all! We saw elephants, giraffes, monkeys, sea lions, bears, and linc went bananas over these two little Sand Cats. Linc thought they were playing a game with him because they were running back in forth right infront of him, when in reality, they saw their food handler coming. nonetheless, it made Lincoln's day! he was trying to pet them through the glass and giggling.
Next we had to run some errands to get some party supplies for Lincoln's family party on Sunday. it's just a simple get together, Zoo themed. I have an elaborate beautiful cake planned, which I'm very excited about. It better turn out or I'll be crushed.
since I'm saving the fancy cake for Sunday, we let him blow out a candle stuck in a jello cup! he ate the entire thing which is so surprising, especially since he ate his favorite dinner- Chicken Nuggets and some strawberry yogurt granola bites.
Then he opened his other toy from us, a hammer and peg bench. I think he enjoyed being able to hit stuff, and not be told no. Then it was off to bed, but not before reading his new birthday book his cousins sent him!
It wasn't bedtime for me though! Moms always have some work to be doing. I decided to make a zoo train with Lincoln's extra diaper boxes. Sunday, we can put his dog cousins(yeah, they really are considered that) in the train cars and have a race, or parade. Wiggin is even shaved to look like a lion so, it's a win win. Now it's 2 am, and I'm laying in bed feeling so blessed to have such a sweet lil boy. he has been the best baby and its hard to believe that he's 1. not a baby anymore!
just a random coincidence-kalob was wearing the shirt he wore a year ago, today, when Lincoln was born , and he hadn't worn it since that day!
