Lets hear it for the boy...

Lincoln loves little Einsteins now. he loves the songs. When he sees/hears the theme song he jumps up and down and points.  I've been using it to my advantage. The song part he likes best goes like this " lets give a big cheer for the artist of the day...go ----, go----. " they insert a different artists name each episode.  so while he eats lunch, our song goes like this " lets give a big cheer for the boy who eats his nuggets. Go Lincoln, go Lincoln!"  He loves it,  I'm sure my neighbors do too. Thin walls!
He tried a tuna sandwich the other day. To my surprise, he really liked it! And ate it two days in a row.
He also actually ate some broccoli potato soup! I'm so glad he's expanding his horizons . He's become quite the trouble maker. He can open the fridge now. today he was quietly reading a book, and I look over and he had gotten himself a cantaloupe snack from the fridge, all by himself!
I had to get my phone fixed and all my photos got taken off my phone so unfortunately I couldn't blog a bunch of pictures I had planned. Like our trip to the aquarium with cortney and some random fun stuff we've done around the apartment. We've made a new friend, who has a 1 year old so we've had lots of play dates! but they are going home this week :(
we have a month left, and 5 swim diapers! so pool side is where you'll find us! Lincoln loves his new turtle. he kisses him as well as uses him for floating.
Lincoln has been bursting with personality. he loves to copy us. For example, tonight we ate at Olive Garden. He noticed me wipe my mouth with the napkin and lay it in my lap.  He took mine and wipes his entire head for a good 3 minutes and then tucked it into his lap in his high chair. It was awesome. We also were putting our left overs into to go boxes. And after using his to go box as a book, and a hat, he put his 4 noodles into his container and passes it over to dad like " here, I'm saving these." he's a handful but I love him to death. he is such a busy body. We've learned if we let him try to buckle his own stroller buckle, cart buckle, high chair buckle,,,he will sit contently trying sooo hard to do it himself. and when he does latch it, we do it over again! Whatever works right!?!  Here he is being cute as ever.
he loves his basketball and refused to leave it in the house today.
And here he is showing his snack and then his belly, where his snack ended up :)

We were supposed to go to six flags and safari adventure park today, but our beautiful day soon turned into flash floods. So we saved our tickets , went to dinner , and just hung around at home.  Lincoln is looking forward to going on the safari adventure next Sunday! he's been reciting all his animal noises, and has a tiger shirt to wear! fingers crossed there is no rain next week!

little sitter

Sitter! Not sister!
This lil guy is the light of my life. He makes me laugh so much!
I wish I had more pictures to share, but kalob unloaded my phone of all pictures because I couldn't take any more! That full!
Lincoln just turned 16 months! I can't believe he's so old! he is such a little boy now, no baby in sight.  he can say about 30-45 words( i counted) he says animal noises. He's learning people's names finally. he runs a muck around here. By the end of the day, every toy, puzzle, bib and bowl has been pulled out. he wakes up bright and early around 6 every day , takes 1 nap for an hour or two, and in bed at 7 pm.
I stay up every night til 1 or 2 am so I can spend time with kalob. I want him to have a good meal every night since he hardly has time to eat during the day.  because im up so late, my early morning wake up call kills me. But lincoln is so cute; he's a good reason to be awake.  i enjoy getting him out of the crib, he has to gather his teddy, his lovie, and his blanket Every Single time he gets out. Naps too!
my mornings consist of changing and feeding Lincoln breakfast and then shutting all doors, locking up the trash, baby gating the bathroom, collecting all phone chords and breakables, and then laying on the floor while Lincoln watches cartoons.
Lincoln climbs now, so we have to be more careful then ever. He climbs up the chairs onto the table, up the back of the couch into the window! And he woke up tall enough to open the doors. I really hope he doesn't figure a way to scale his crib.
I know that day will come.  kalob usually will join me for cartoon quiet time. i lay on the floor blocking the door and closet, and kalob is on the couch blocking the window. that way if either of us snoozes, linc is  contained and safe :) he's a curious boy.
he is 22 or 23 lbs and 30 inches tall.  He is finally eating well, well enough. And drinks regular whole milk now, without adding any flavorings!  He loves going outside, he even put on his very own shoes! I was blown away! he definitely deserved to roll in some dirt after that!
he loves to kiss attack me. I laugh soo hard, cuz he won't stop. It's even hard to breathe because he holds my face with both hands and is practically licking my face and kissing my nose and mouth. my mother can attest to this happening. FaceTime. Yesterday.
He also just figured out Hiding. He likes the cupboards but now the hall closet as well. he will even pop out and scream when I'm walking down the hall! It always turns into a crazy game of where's my Lincoln!
 That's all for now.

4th of July!

I can't believe how fast a year has come and gone. I have been so nostalgic all day. I remember last year having the techs over for chili and cornbread; then we hurried out to watch a couple fireworks. Lincoln was so tiny, wearin his cute lil sailor outfit. he would kick his feet like a crazy boy when he saw the fire works.
He didn't see any this year. I'm actually quite disappointed.
I tried to get in the spirit! i painted my nails patriotically.
I cooked hamburgers and bacon wrapped hotdogs. I made a massive amount of macaroni salad, though i knew only 2 and a 1/2 people would be eating it. and I even bought everything to make "firecracker cookies" but with all my efforts, I'm just sad. we didn't go out tonight, we didn't do any celebrating.  Kalob was home early enough but he is just not big on holidays. I think about my growing up and being so excited every holiday, because it meant we got to play with our cousins. lots and lots of family and food. Swimming and popsicles, gathering blankets and finding the best spot on the lawn for viewing the street show. 25-30 kids running around with sparklers coming dangerously close to setting each other ablaze. I feel sad Lincoln doesn't have anyone to play with. I feel like he's missing out on the excitement.
we had Clint over for dinner at least.  All the reps went to a giant free firework show and concert in Philly, but kalob said he didn't want to go because of the baby. this is really the first time we've ever Not done something because of having a small child. We take him everywhere normally,,, I'm really bummed actually. I've never equated parenthood with missing out before.
I should suck it up and go finish those cookies. It's 9:40 at night, and I'm lying in bed pouting.

Living it up

Well well well, what have we been up to. aside from an awesome trip to Baltimore, not much. Here is Lincoln being a stubborn boy. He doesn't want my help much with anything these days. he's getting dressed so we can go on a walk. Here he is after a swim. The apartment complex threw a summer party. its hard to determine whether its summer here or not. It can be sunny and then lightening and thunder ten minutes later. we took our first dip in the pool. It was our last outing with becca and Ezra; it was a fun send off! balloon animals, popcorn and hotdogs, face painting, and goodie bags!
Funny story about the goodie bags. The complex manager didnt want to hand one over to Lincoln saying that it was too grown up for him- candy, stickers, and bubbles. All things Lincoln loves! so I let him have it, and I put the candy in the middle of the table where I thought he couldn't reach.it's been a week, and I forgot about it. I assumed kalob had eaten it all. But yesterday, little stinker, pulled a box of nerds out from behind his chair. The box was soggy and chewed up but he still hasn't gotten to the candy. I let him have it for his valiant effort. But then today,,, he had a second box! Lincoln has been hiding candy from me!
