This is just so weird. I feel like some of my posts are missing, or I'm just having the strangest déjà vu, like I've written these before! We came to LA as soon as we got home for the summer just for like a 2 day drop in. Kalob woke up in the morning and said " I want to see my family" It had been four months since, so I understood him wanting to go. We crammed our clothes into a duffel bag and drove.
Not only was it fun to be with family, but it was even more fun to go to the LA fair with them too. Lincoln had the most fun I think. Here he is at the petting zoo.
One of the goats came up and bit my shirt through the gate! Thankfully it didn't leave a hole! Goats really will eat anything!
Lincoln cried when it was time to leave the baby animals.
The next day we stopped in Bakersfield to see my side of the family and then we headed back home. Like I said, quick trip!
when we got back to Utah, to Kalob's delight, the Utah state fair was going on. He Loves going to fairs. me, not so much, I hate meandering. anyways, this fair had an incredible kids section, where you can learn everything that goes on at a farm. where your food begins and how it gets to your table. so I'll let Lincoln show you :)
He didn't want a picture, he wanted to get started! he's got his basket and apron.
Riding his tractor to the fields.
Picking produce ( he didn't want to plant the seeds, he's choosy) he fed the chickens corn kernels and then stole their eggs. good ol bait and switch.
then he brushed a sheep, and pretended to sheer it.
Then he took his wool to market to sell. He sold it for cash money and then went to a market and bought a rice crispy treat! it was the cutest and most fun simulation I've ever went through with him. Good on you Utah state fair!
Nice fake smile, goober face!
