I was in the dressing room trying on this jacket.
I call kalob and say " I found this awesome military style jacket. I love it, and I'm going to buy it!" ( I had a 50% off coupon too). The lady in the next dressing room follows me out and says
" are you really going to by that?!" I respond " yes" and she says " I saw it first. I was going to buy it. I was just going to walk over there and get it right now" I say sorry to her, but I am going to buy it, it's the only one in that size. I continue shopping, clutching it tight. She goes on to tell the three clerks in the store how upset she is, that I swiped it right out of her sight. It's the only jacket that will work, and she needs it. like there is an intent to buy law or something! kalob and I keep rolling our eyes at eachother. She was no where near me when I picked it up, I hadn't even noticed her in the store. And she was in the dressing room before and during the time I was with said jacket. She was making it very uncomfortable; tensions were rising. Then she comes over and says " can I at least try it on? " I appease her, but I don't want to. She doesn't even look in a mirror, just pouts at me and acts put out, obviously thinking to herself that it looks better on herself. I forgot to mention, she's like 45. the store clerks are trying to order it for her and showing her other options and she just loudly complains that no, nothing else will do, I should just let her have it. how funny, that she thinks the store should care whose wallet the money comes from. it also felt like she was trying to pressure me to give it up because she was older. it was so ridiculous; she about ruined my shopping experience. but, then I found this sweater.
after she gave up and left, I kinda laughed it off to the cashier, because at this point, I'm feeling bad and uncomfortable. They all must think I'm a bad person now . what if she did Really need a military style jacket? haha just writing it is ridiculous. But why throw an adult tantrum, only if for extreme need, ya? Then I start feeling guilty. Do I deserve this jacket?! Yes, this is Utah. It's cold! The cashier said " if she wanted it so badly, she should have picked it up off the rack when she wanted it" plus she didn't want it bad enough to order it either. crazy snood.
Is this real life? Does this really happen to people?! I just don't think that's normal. most people get the gyst of one of my families favorite saying "too bad, so sad." or the ever so popular "ya snooze, ya lose(sucker)." it was literally, just so strange to me! Anyways, despite the drama, my fall wardrobe feels a little bit more cozy and a lot more stylish.
We also had a block party today. Lincoln had some pizza, bounced in a jump house, pet a snake, and got to sit in a back hoe loader, just like in his favorite book. his mouth was full so he wouldn't take any good pictures.
